Quetzalcoatlus

The largest flying animal ever, tall as a giraffe/Dinosaurs & Extinct Animals

Quetzalcoatlus northropi was a pterosaur that lived about 68 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous. With a wingspan of 10 to 11 meters, it was the largest known flying animal ever. Standing on the ground, it was as tall as a giraffe at about 5 meters. Despite its enormous size, it weighed only about 200 to 250 kg due to hollow bones and thin wing membranes. It likely launched itself into the air by vaulting on its powerful front limbs.
