Dunkleosteus

A 6-meter armored fish with the strongest bite of the Devonian/Dinosaurs & Extinct Animals

Dunkleosteus terrelli was a placoderm (armored fish) that lived about 382 to 358 million years ago during the Late Devonian period. It grew to about 6 meters long and weighed an estimated 1,000 kg. Instead of teeth, it had sharp bony plates that could generate a bite force of about 6,000 newtons, among the most powerful of any fish. Its head and thorax were covered in thick bony armor. Dunkleosteus was an apex predator of the Devonian seas, often called the 'Age of Fishes.'
