Argentinosaurus

Possibly the heaviest land animal that ever lived/Dinosaurs & Extinct Animals

Argentinosaurus huinculensis lived about 96 to 94 million years ago in Late Cretaceous Argentina. Estimates place it at 30 to 40 meters long and 65 to 80 tonnes, making it a contender for the heaviest land animal in history. A single vertebra measured 1.59 meters across, and its femur was about 2.5 meters long. Despite its massive size, Argentinosaurus likely hatched from eggs no larger than a rugby ball, meaning hatchlings grew to over a thousand times their birth weight.
