The Rebel Alliance's iconic four-winged space superiority fighter/Pop Culture

The T-65B X-wing starfighter is the primary fighter of the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars. According to official Star Wars technical manuals, the X-wing is 12.5 m long, 11.76 m wide with S-foils in attack position, and has a mass of about 10 tonnes fully loaded. The ship is armed with four laser cannons and two proton torpedo launchers, and carries an astromech droid (such as R2-D2) for in-flight repairs and navigation. It was the fighter that Luke Skywalker used to destroy the first Death Star.
