Walrus

The mustachioed heavyweight of the Arctic/Marine Life

The walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) is a massive pinniped that uses its iconic tusks to haul itself onto ice floes, establish dominance, and poke breathing holes. Both males and females have tusks, which are actually elongated canine teeth that never stop growing. They can slow their heartbeat to survive frigid Arctic water temperatures.
