Traffic Light

The three-eyed signal that governs intersections/Everyday Objects

A standard vertical traffic signal has three 300 mm (12-inch) lenses arranged red on top, yellow in the middle, and green at the bottom. Modern signals use LED arrays that last 8 to 10 years compared to 1 to 2 years for incandescent bulbs. The first electric traffic signal was installed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1914.
