The Tower of London was founded in 1066 by William the Conqueror and has served as a royal palace, fortress, prison, execution site, mint, and zoo. The White Tower at its center stands 27.4 meters tall. The complex covers about 4.9 hectares and is guarded by the Yeoman Warders, who share the grounds with at least six ravens. Legend says if the ravens ever leave, the kingdom will fall.
