The Galaxy-class flagship from Star Trek: The Next Generation/Pop Culture
The Enterprise-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation is a Galaxy-class starship, significantly larger than Kirk's original Constitution-class vessel. According to Star Trek technical manuals, the ship is 641 m long, 467 m wide, and 137 m tall. It carries a crew of over 1,000 plus civilians and families (a first for Starfleet), has 42 decks, and can separate its saucer section from the engineering hull. The ship served as Captain Jean-Luc Picard's command from 2364 to 2371.
