Tesla Model S Battery Pack

The 100 kWh lithium-ion slab that powers a luxury EV/Cars & Road Vehicles

The Tesla Model S battery pack is a flat, skateboard-shaped assembly bolted to the underside of the car. It contains thousands of individual lithium-ion cells arranged in modules and weighs roughly as much as a grand piano. It stores enough energy to drive over 600 km on a single charge, which is impressive until you remember it takes longer to recharge than a grand piano takes to tune.
