Sushi Roll (Maki, 8-piece)

Rice, fish, and seaweed in perfect harmony/Food & Drinks

A standard maki sushi roll consists of vinegared rice, nori (seaweed), and a filling, typically rolled into a cylinder about 3 cm in diameter and cut into 6-8 pieces. Each piece weighs about 25-40 grams. Sushi originated as a way to preserve fish in fermented rice in Southeast Asia, and the version we know today developed in Edo-period Tokyo.
