The high-performance wave-riding plank for turns and tricks/Sports
A shortboard surfboard, the standard high-performance board used in competitive surfing, is typically 1.7-1.9 m (5'7" to 6'4") long, about 47 cm wide, and 6 cm thick. Made from a polyurethane or EPS foam core wrapped in fiberglass and resin, it weighs 2.5-3.5 kg. The board features a pointed nose, a three-fin (thruster) setup, and a rocker (lengthwise curve) designed for speed, sharp turns, and aerial maneuvers on the wave face. Surfing became an Olympic sport at Tokyo 2020.
