Human Spleen

The fist-sized organ that recycles old blood cells/The Human Body

The spleen sits in the upper left abdomen and filters blood, removing old or damaged red blood cells. It also stores a reserve of blood and produces white blood cells as part of the immune system. Despite its functions, humans can survive without a spleen.
