A snowplow truck is typically a heavy-duty chassis fitted with a front-mounted blade, salt or sand spreader, and sometimes a wing plow on the side. The front blade can be angled to push snow to one side of the road. Large state highway plows can clear a lane 3 to 4 m wide at speeds up to 55 km/h.
