The brightest star in Earth's night sky/Stars

Sirius, also known as the Dog Star, is the brightest star in the night sky as seen from Earth. It is actually a binary system consisting of Sirius A, a main-sequence star roughly twice the mass of the Sun, and Sirius B, a faint white dwarf companion. Located about 8.6 light-years away, it is one of the nearest stars to Earth.
