Saltwater Crocodile

The largest living reptile, with the strongest bite ever measured/Large Land Animals

The saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) is the largest living reptile, with males reaching over 6 meters in length and weighing more than 1,000 kg. Found from eastern India to northern Australia, they inhabit both saltwater and freshwater environments and are capable of swimming long distances across open ocean. Their bite force has been measured at over 16,000 newtons, the strongest of any living animal. Despite their bulk, saltwater crocodiles can launch themselves almost entirely out of the water in a technique called the 'death roll' to overpower prey.
