Gaudi's unfinished basilica, under construction since 1882/Modern Buildings

The Basilica de la Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is Antoni Gaudi's magnum opus, a cathedral so ambitious that it has been under construction since 1882 and is projected for completion around 2026. When finished, its tallest tower dedicated to Jesus Christ will reach 172.5 meters, making it the tallest church in the world. The basilica is 90 meters long and 60 meters wide, with an interior that mimics a forest canopy through branching columns. It is simultaneously a UNESCO World Heritage site and an active construction zone, which is a uniquely Catalan achievement.
