Rosetta was an ESA mission launched in 2004 that reached Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko in 2014. It deployed the Philae lander, which made the first soft landing on a comet nucleus. The mission ended in 2016 when Rosetta itself was deliberately crashed into the comet.
