Cycle Rickshaw
The pedal-powered passenger taxi of South and Southeast Asia/Transportation
The cycle rickshaw is a human-powered three-wheeled passenger vehicle widely used across South and Southeast Asia, particularly in India, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. A typical cycle rickshaw has a front bicycle wheel driven by pedals and two rear wheels supporting a passenger seat with a canopy. They measure about 2.5 m long, 1.0 m wide, and can carry two passengers. In Dhaka, Bangladesh alone, an estimated 400,000 cycle rickshaws operate daily, making it the 'rickshaw capital of the world.'
