Proton

The positively charged heart of every atom/Scientific Objects

A proton is made of two up quarks and one down quark bound together by the strong nuclear force. It has a positive electric charge exactly equal and opposite to the electron's, and it is stable (as far as we know) with a half-life of at least 10^34 years. Every element on the periodic table is defined by how many protons its nucleus contains.
