Polaris

The North Star that has guided travelers for millennia/Stars

Polaris, the North Star, is a yellow supergiant that happens to sit almost directly above Earth's North Pole. It is actually a triple star system, with the primary star being a Cepheid variable roughly 2,500 times more luminous than the Sun. Sailors, hikers, and people who forgot to charge their phones have relied on it for navigation for thousands of years.
