Petronas Towers

Kuala Lumpur's twin towers that held the world's tallest title from 1998 to 2004/Modern Buildings

The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, designed by Cesar Pelli, were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004. Each tower rises 452 meters and contains 88 floors. The iconic sky bridge connecting the two towers at levels 41 and 42 is 58 meters long and sits 170 meters above the ground. The towers used over 160,000 cubic meters of high-strength concrete, making them the tallest concrete structures on Earth. They were intentionally designed as twin towers to symbolize unity and harmony, which is a lot of symbolism for 300,000 tons of concrete and steel.
