The luxurious carriage of the world's most famous train/Transportation

The Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL) sleeping cars of the Orient Express were the epitome of railway luxury. The iconic Lx-type sleeping cars, built in the 1920s-1930s and used on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express heritage service, are about 23.5 m long, 2.95 m wide, and weigh approximately 56 tonnes. Each car contains private sleeping compartments with wood-paneled walls, brass fittings, and crisp linen. The original Orient Express ran from Paris to Constantinople (Istanbul) starting in 1883.
