The One Ring (Physical)

The actual prop ring used in Peter Jackson's films/Pop Culture

While the One Ring from Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a magical artifact of immense power, the physical prop used in Peter Jackson's films was a plain gold band. Multiple rings were made in various sizes for different shots, from finger-sized to much larger versions for close-ups. A standard-sized prop ring was approximately 2 cm in outer diameter, 1.8 cm inner diameter, 4 mm wide, and weighed about 10 grams. In the story, the ring weighs far more than it should for its size when it 'wants' to be found.
