Notre-Dame de Paris

The medieval cathedral that rose from the ashes/Ancient Structures

Notre-Dame de Paris took 182 years to build (1163-1345) and is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. The nave rises 33.5 meters, and the twin towers reach 69 meters. The 2019 fire destroyed the 96-meter spire and most of the lead roof, but the cathedral was reconstructed and reopened in December 2024. About 12 million people visited it annually before the fire.
