Mona Lisa

The world's most famous enigmatic smile/Art & Sculpture

Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa between 1503 and 1519 on a poplar wood panel using oil paints. It is surprisingly small in person, measuring just 77 cm by 53 cm. The painting is displayed behind bulletproof glass at the Louvre, where it attracts about 10 million visitors per year. Her smile is still being debated five centuries later.
