Mjolnir (Thor's Hammer)

The hammer that only the worthy can lift/Mythical & Fictional

Mjolnir is the enchanted hammer wielded by Thor in both Norse mythology and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the MCU, it was forged in the heart of a dying star from the fictional metal Uru. The inscription reads: 'Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.' According to Marvel specifications, it weighs about 19.2 kilograms with a handle approximately 28 centimeters long. In Norse mythology, the handle was made short because Loki distracted the dwarven smiths during its creation. Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson calculated that if Mjolnir were made of neutron star material, it would weigh roughly 300 billion elephants.
