In Minecraft, the fundamental unit of the world is a cube measuring exactly 1 m on each side. The game world stretches 60 million meters in each horizontal direction and 384 blocks vertically (from Y=-64 to Y=320 in Java Edition). Each block type has a distinct texture on its six faces. Despite being simple cubes, Minecraft blocks have been used to create astonishingly complex structures, from scale replicas of real cities to functioning computers, all within the game's procedurally generated worlds.
