Medieval Halberd

The axe-spear hybrid carried by Swiss and German infantry/Historical Weapons

The halberd combined an axe blade, a spike on top, and a hook on the back into a single polearm. It was the signature weapon of Swiss mercenaries in the 14th and 15th centuries. The hook could pull a mounted knight from his horse, while the spike and axe dealt with both armored and unarmored foes.
