Longest Plank Hold

Over 9.5 hours of motionless core strength that pushed the body to its limits/Human Records & Feats

The world record for the longest abdominal plank hold is 9 hours, 30 minutes, and 1 second (34,201 seconds), set by Daniel Scali of Australia on August 6, 2023. Scali, who suffers from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) that causes chronic arm pain, used the pain management techniques he developed through his condition to maintain the position. The plank is a simple isometric exercise: the body is held in a straight line, supported on forearms and toes, engaging the core, shoulders, and legs. During extreme holds, the body experiences muscle fatigue, buildup of metabolic waste products, and difficulty regulating temperature. Heart rate remains elevated at roughly 100 to 120 bpm throughout.
