Komodo Dragon

The world's largest living lizard/Large Land Animals

The Komodo dragon can grow up to 3 meters long and weigh over 70 kg. It is the apex predator on the few Indonesian islands where it lives. Its bite delivers venom that prevents blood clotting, and it can detect carrion from up to 9.5 km away. Despite its bulk, a Komodo dragon can sprint at 20 km/h in short bursts. About 3,000 remain in the wild.
