Sea Kayak
The sleek enclosed-cockpit boat for coastal and open-water paddling/Transportation
A sea kayak (touring kayak) is designed for paddling on open water, coastal environments, and multi-day expeditions. A typical single sea kayak is 4.5-5.5 m long, about 56 cm wide, and weighs 20-30 kg. Sea kayaks feature a longer waterline than recreational kayaks for better tracking and speed, sealed bulkheads for buoyancy and gear storage, and a spray skirt to keep water out of the cockpit. The design descends from the Inuit qajaq, used for thousands of years in Arctic waters.
