The Hogwarts Express is the magical train that transports students from Platform 9 3/4 at King's Cross Station to Hogwarts School. In the films, it was portrayed by GWR Hall Class locomotive 5972 'Olton Hall', a real 4-6-0 steam engine built in 1937. The locomotive is about 19 m long and weighs roughly 75 tonnes. With its tender and typical rake of eight coaches, the full consist stretches about 200 meters.
