Hippopotamus

Africa's most dangerous large animal/Large Land Animals

The hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) is responsible for more human deaths in Africa than any other large animal, which is an incredible resume for something that looks like an angry couch. They can open their mouths to a terrifying 150-degree gape, run at highway speeds on land, and secrete a natural red-tinted sunscreen. They cannot actually swim; they run along the bottom.
