Hafthor Bjornsson's 501 kg world record pull/Human Records & Feats

On May 2, 2020, Icelandic strongman Hafthor Bjornsson (best known as 'The Mountain' from Game of Thrones) deadlifted 501 kilograms, breaking Eddie Hall's previous record of 500 kg. The lift was performed in his home gym in Iceland during pandemic lockdowns and livestreamed to millions. The barbell and plates exert a gravitational force of approximately 4,915 newtons, which Bjornsson's body had to overcome through a coordinated effort of his legs, back, and grip. The lift lasted only a few seconds, during which his face turned a shade of red not found in nature.
