The book that started the printing revolution/Literature & Writing
The Gutenberg Bible, printed by Johannes Gutenberg around 1455, was the first major book produced with movable type in Europe. About 180 copies were printed, of which 49 survive. Each copy is two volumes totaling about 1,282 pages. A complete copy sold at auction in 1978 for $2.2 million, and today would be worth tens of millions.
