Grizzly Bear

North America's most iconic omnivore/Large Land Animals

The grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis) earned its subspecies name, horribilis, for good reason. They can run faster than a horse over short distances, flip 300 kg boulders to find food, and put on up to 180 kg of fat before hibernation. Despite their fearsome reputation, about 80% of their diet is plants, berries, and nuts.
