Great Barrier Reef

The largest living structure on Earth/Landforms

The Great Barrier Reef off northeast Australia is the largest structure ever built by living organisms. It's visible from space and is composed of nearly 3,000 individual reef systems and hundreds of islands. Home to over 400 species of coral, 1,500 species of fish, and 4,000 species of mollusk, it is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet.
