Golden Gate Bridge

The most photographed bridge in the world/Engineering Marvels

The Golden Gate Bridge, completed in 1937, spans the Golden Gate strait connecting San Francisco to Marin County. Its main span of 1,280 meters was the longest in the world for 27 years. The bridge's distinctive International Orange color was originally meant to be temporary primer, but the consulting architect liked it so much it became permanent.
