Fencing Epee

The heavier thrusting sword used in Olympic fencing/Sports

The epee is the heaviest of the three Olympic fencing weapons and allows touches anywhere on the opponent's body. Its blade has a triangular cross-section and is tipped with a spring-loaded button that registers valid hits electronically. The weapon evolved from the 19th-century dueling sword.
