Espresso Shot

30 mL of concentrated coffee intensity/Food & Drinks

A standard espresso shot is about 30 mL of coffee brewed by forcing 92-96 degree water through finely ground coffee at 9 bars of pressure in 25-30 seconds. Despite its small volume, it contains about 63 mg of caffeine. The crema (the golden foam on top) is created by CO2 dissolving under high pressure and then releasing as tiny bubbles. Espresso was invented in Italy in the early 1900s.
