The common chimpanzee shares about 98.7% of its DNA with humans and can use tools, recognize itself in mirrors, learn sign language, and grieve for dead companions. Adult males stand about 1.2 meters tall and weigh 40-60 kg but are roughly 1.5 times stronger than a fit human of similar size. They live in complex social groups of up to 150 individuals.
