The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a tandem-rotor heavy-lift helicopter that has served militaries worldwide since 1962. Its two counter-rotating rotors eliminate the need for a tail rotor. The Chinook can carry 33 to 55 troops or sling-load vehicles and artillery beneath its fuselage.
