Bottlenose dolphins grow to about 2.5-3.8 meters long and can weigh up to 300 kg. They use echolocation to navigate and hunt, producing clicks at frequencies up to 130 kHz. Dolphins sleep with one half of their brain at a time, keeping one eye open. They can swim at speeds up to 35 km/h and have been observed using sponges as tools to protect their noses while foraging.
