Blue Whale Tongue

An organ that weighs as much as an elephant/Marine Life

A blue whale's tongue can weigh up to 2,700 kg, roughly the same as an adult African elephant. It fills the bottom of the mouth and helps push water through the baleen plates during feeding. The tongue alone is heavier than most cars. During a single feeding lunge, a blue whale can engulf up to 110 tonnes of water and krill, then uses its tongue to expel the water while trapping the food.
