Arabian Desert

The vast sandy expanse covering most of the Arabian Peninsula/Deserts

The Arabian Desert covers approximately 2.33 million square kilometers across most of the Arabian Peninsula, including large portions of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, and the UAE. It includes the Rub' al Khali (Empty Quarter), the largest contiguous sand desert in the world at 650,000 square kilometers. Temperatures can exceed 50 degrees C, and some areas receive no rain for years at a time. Despite this, the desert sits atop roughly 30% of the world's proven oil reserves, making it one of the most economically significant landscapes on Earth.
