Angel Falls
The world's tallest uninterrupted waterfall in Venezuela/Water
Angel Falls in Venezuela plunges 979 meters from the summit of Auyantepui, a flat-topped mountain in Canaima National Park, making it the tallest uninterrupted waterfall in the world. The water falls so far that much of it turns to mist before reaching the base. The falls were named after American aviator Jimmie Angel, who crash-landed his plane on top of the tepui in 1937 and had to hike out. The indigenous Pemon people call it Kerepakupai Meru, which translates to 'waterfall of the deepest place.'
